Qigong - Meditative Energy Exercises
Qigong (pronounced "chee gong", also spelled Chi Kung) means "cultivate your energy." It is an ancient Chinese healing art that helps to align mind, body, and spirit. The active practice of Qigong includes:
gentle yet powerful movements
visualizations --- self-massage
breath work --- meditations
This practice teaches you to really listen to yourself and to allow your body and your inner self to tell you what you need for your own healing and well-being. Qigong is truly easy to learn, and I find that people stick with it. There are so many possible benefits, such as:
Physical and emotional balance
Improved immune system
Development of intuition
Your personal "fountain of youth"
In the first Qigong class that I took, I felt the flow of energy and I knew that this practice was amazing. Very soon I determined to share this special practice with others.
Tai Chi Chuan is like a beautiful meditative dance. It is a gentle weight-bearing exercise that helps you to move your vital energy. The study of Tai Chi itself teaches you mindfulness and patience -Tai Chi takes persistence, because you learn one movement after another - each movement involves slow coordination of arms and legs. But it is worth the effort. Some of the many benefits of this practice include:
flexible and resiliently strong muscles
The form of Tai Chi that I teach is the Yang Style Short Form.
